MBW Vibratory Rollers UVP Boom Mounted Vibratory Roller

MBW has offered vibratory rollers of various types and sizes since the early 1970s. But in 2002, MBW discontinued its line of walk-behind and remote controlled trench rollers. These models were replaced by designs pioneered by MBW and which make so much more sense for our customers. Here's why:

  1. PRODUCTIVITY
In geo-technical terms, walk-behind rollers are inherently inefficient due to low mass. By coupling an attachment to a host machine, far greater mass can be brought to bear in the compaction process. ATS(P) models for skid-steer loaders out produce walk-behinds up to 300%. EXA and UV Boom-Mounted Vibratory Wheels increase productivity up to 600% and more over conventional trench rollers.
  2. RANGE OF APPLICATION
While ATS models and UV Plates are best suited to granular and mixed soils, ATP, EXA and UV Wheels handle the full range of soil types, from sand to mixed and cohesive soil, to rock. UV Wheels offer further flexibility in that they are easily interchanged with wheels of different widths or vibratory plates to suit current conditions of compaction and work area constraints.
  3. OPERATOR SAFETY
Boom-Mounted Vibratory Wheels keep operators out of trenches while backfill is being placed, leveled and compacted. The ATS(P) provides a similar level of safety on above ground compaction sites. In all cases, the operator sits in the protected cab of the host machine during the compaction process.
  4. MAINTENANCE
Walk-behind and trench rollers are notoriously high maintenance. ATS(P)s, EXAs and UV Wheels are comparatively simple machines built to take the punishment of heavy duty compaction work.
  5. COST
ATS(P), EXA and UV Wheels and Plates cost less than Walk-Behind and Trench Rollers. The difference can be as much as 70%. But that's only the first cost factor to be considered. Maintenance is less. Productivity is much greater. The full cost analysis emphatically recommends ATS(P), EXA and UV Wheels and Plates. Which is why MBW discontinued its range of walk-behind and trench rollers in 2002.
